February 26 2020.– The food company Mariscos Castellar, specialized in the production and distribution  of seafood products, has received the Andalucia Economica Award for Internationalization,   which is awarded to those companies whose trajectory contributes to the international projection of Andalusian products and services.

 

The CEO’s of the company, Josefina and Francisco García Calero, have received the award in a ceremony chaired by the  vice President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan Marín, and held at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art in Jerez de la Frontera, with the attendance of numerous companies and  relevant institutions in Andalusia.

 

Among the attendees, there was the Minister of Finance, Industry and Energy of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan Bravo,  Mayor of Jerez de la Frontera, María del Carmen Sánchez, and the president of Andalucía Económica magazine, Tomás de la Cruz, organizer of the event.

 

The Andalucía Económica Business Awards, which are now in their 19th edition, represent a recognition of the entrepreneurial spirit in the Andalusian community. This anual awards are meant for a group of companies, entities and personalities that stand out for “actions that reflect the business dynamism seeked for boosting  the economic locomotive of Andalusia ”, as indicated by the awards organization.

 

As for Mariscos Castellar, which has just completed half a century of history, Andalucía Económica has recognized the trajectory of internationalization undertaken by the company by managing to locate its products in countries such as England, Holland, Portugal and Romania.

 

The company, which currently allocates more than ten percent of sales to foreign markets, has the strategic objective of achieving that exports reach 25 percent of turnover, within three years, with a strong presence in Eastern European countries.

 

In addition to Mariscos Castellar, the Andalucía Económica awards have recognized, in other categories, companies such as Cosentino, Tío Pepe (González Byass), Trops, Ebro Foods, Biotronic Salud or Grupo Secuoya.

 

At the award ceremony, the García Calero brothers underlined their “enormous satisfaction with this distinction, which is a recognition of the business dynamism of Mariscos Castellar; highlighting the great encouragement this award means for us and our entire team to continue progressing, at the same time that we contribute, in our capabilities,  to the growth and economic development of our region ”.
