November 19th, 2020. The food company Mariscos Castellar has obtained the Emprende e Innova Award, in the category of business experience. This was granted by the Diputación de Jaén to recognize business initiatives in the province that stand out for their innovation, respect for the environment and contribution to local development.

Mariscos castellar has won this award among other 45 companies and 66 business projects submitted to these awards. Seeking and promoting sustainable and innovative projects that ease job creation and economic development in the province are the main goals. On the other hand, these awards are recieved by the trajectory of those Jaen companies that have proven their worth over the years; adapting to the continuous changes in the market.

Specifically, the jury has valued in Mariscos Castellar: the employment generated, the contribution to local development, the innovation, the business model, the accumulated experience and the company’s future projection.

The CEO of Mariscos Castellar, Josefina García Calero, has received the award from the president of the Provincial Council of Jaén, Francisco Reyes, who has underlined ”more than half a century experience of the company in the distribution of sea products of the highest quality; until becoming today one of the most important seafood cookers in Spain”.

As for Josefina García Calero, she has expressed: ”The heartfelt gratitude of the entire Mariscos Castellar team, for this recognition that reaffirms us in our absolute commitment to the province. The workers and the professional talent of Jaén are a key part from which we have nurtured since the company was founded more than 50 years ago.”
